RSPCAPNG Golf Day Event – Friday 24th September 2021

This event was only a great success due to the massive support of our sponsors. Without them RSPCAPNG would not have had all the refreshments on the course and off the course, the appreciation gifts given away to the majority of people who attended, the prizes we had on offer for the winners of the competition and last but not least of all the wonderful Raffle & Auction prizes that were generously donated. Because of this stupendous support, this has enticed all who took part on the day, to make requests to join again next year.

Karen Swale (Executive Assistant & Public Relations at RSPCAPNG) would like to extend a very special thank you to Judi Mckeown who volunteered for three months to arrange this event with RSPCAPNG. Because of Judi’s tireless efforts in promoting this event RSPCAPNG managed to get 22 teams in total to attend on the day. The amount of holes sponsored was 9 and we hope for 18 in total next year.

This year’s Golf game was to encourage companies and individuals to apart take in a fun game of Golf, whether they had experience in the sport (A Handicap) or not. It was all about mingling with others whom they wouldn’t have normally pumped into in their usual circle. The main drive for this fundraising event was to raise money for RSPCAPNG’s Shelter animals, Adoption Program. It also gave companies the opportunity to advertise their companies trade on the day, as a form of appreciation for their support to RSPCAPNG’s fundraiser.

This is the second Golf Day charity event ever hosted by RSPCAPNG and this year’s event managed to raised K78,737.00.

The event went for 10 hours in total from 9am registration of the teams, to 6:30pm once the presentation of the winning teams was completed and the raffle draw started.

Everyone who attend received an appreciation gift each of a RSPCAPNG cap. And most of who attended had two or three gifts or prize that they went home with.

A hot dog each at the start of the day and the delicious selection of canapés done by Chef Julz and The Healthy Food company during the presentation, everyone went home satisfied and with a smile on their face.

RSPCAPNG hopes that more companies and individuals join next year, for an even bigger and better event for more people to join in and enjoy

The RSPCAPNG Longest Lunch Success

The Longest Lunch event this year was definitely one for the books with music and laughter filling the atmosphere on the second floor at The Stanley Hotel, it was truly a happy and enjoyable afternoon had by all who attended the event.

For the entertainment that afternoon RSPCAPNG had Chris Cobb and his band playing their music at the function. With their mellow and soothing tunes this made for a very relaxing ambiance & introduction to the rest of the afternoon. Once all the guest had arrived and found their seats Mr. David Thompson (RSPCAPNG General Manager) requested for all guest to be upstanding and as a sign of respect a minute silence was held for the late Grand Chief Sir Michael Somare.

Guest were then invited to come up table by table and make their selected from the three course buffet menu with an option for everyone.

With everyone sufficiently full, the entertainment began with Mr. Jim Robins (our very kind volunteer for the day) who was the auctioneer at the event. With his quirky punts and catchy phrases this made for a crowd pleasing and interactive auction indeed.

Guest where also encourage to take an opportunity with friends and work colleagues to take a photo/phots together in front of the photo booth created by Pascoe Promotions.

A special thank you to Catherine Doyle (RSPCAPNG Volunteer) & Patricia Molloy, for their immense help, assisting RSPCAPNG staff in the sales of the raffle tickets on the day.

In total the Auction, Raffle & Lucky Door prizes (which were all donated, by Company supporters & sponsors of RSPCAPNG) generated K44,000.00, which was truly amazing given the amount of people whom attended the event.

RSPCAPNG Staff, Management & Committee Members would like to especially thank the following companies for their continuous sponsorship towards the succession of RSPCAPNG fundraising events. House of Gemini, CHM Group, KEYNOTE, Tufi Resort, Australian High Commission, Digicel, SPAC, Colony Group, Food Pro, Theodist, Trends Beauty International.

RSPCAPNG would like to thank and show recognition for the individual contribution to the Longest Lunch event, as follows. To the Functions & Events team at The Stanley Hotel Abu Chaudhary (Banquet Manager) and Sheba Nuahui (Event Coordinator) for their guidance and help in arrange this event. A special thank you to Montina Events for providing the décor, and to Pascoe Promotions for setting up and arrange the décor and photo booth.

Solomon Jerram for volunteering his time and equipment to take photos of the guests and the setup of the event on the day.
